Mike Heath- Minister of Education and Senior Adults

After completing his undergraduate work at Austin Peay State University, Mike re-entered the United States Army and retired years later as a field grade officer. Upon retirement, Mike completed his seminary training at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. From 2010-15, he served as the lead pastor at Lake Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia. He is thrilled to serve with the Village Baptist Church faith family as the pastoral care and senior adult minister.

Mike is married to the former MaryLou Ries – his wife of 28 years. They have four children – Joshua (23 & a newlywed to his new wife, Sarah), Jordan (20) a junior at Shorter Baptist College in Rome, Georgia, Rachel (18) a freshman at Georgia Southern University, and Sarai (18) a senior at Village Christian Academy. Joining Mike at Village will be MaryLou and Sarai.

VBC is a growing and dynamic church family. Mike, MaryLou and Sarai are
excited about being a part of ministry here as they strive to build loving disciples –  one relationship at a time.
