The Pastoral Care Ministry of Village Baptist Church reflects the heart Eastland has for those in need. This ministry touches those who are ill, hospitalized or homebound, as well as nursing home and assisted living residents. Eastland reaches out with an encouraging word through written notes, telephone calls, and personal visits.

 

Prayer is an integral part of this outreach, both by praying with those being visited, and by providing intercessory prayer opportunities for the Village Baptist Church family to pray for their needs as well.

The Pastoral Care Ministry of Village Baptist Church also channels those in need of Christian Biblical counseling to appropriate resources.

Eastland also serves our senior adults as he helps them use their time and experience to further the work of the church as we spread the Gospel of Jesus.

Eastland joined the ministry staff in June 2005. Before full time ministry, Eastland served as a military officer for 20 years. Upon retirement he worked as a corporate executive. Eastland’s education includes a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Immediately preceding his ministry here, Eastland and his wife, Mary, served in full-time Christian ministry service with the Sellers Maternity Home of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. They have been licensed foster parents in 3 states. They have three sons and six grandchildren.
